Hello,
I was able to connect to my home WIFI network using a USB WIFI Dongle.
Yesterday, upon booting up my PC, it started automatically.
Today, nothing works anymore; the network is detected, I have 3 out of 4 bars with the name of the network I configured for WIFI, but it won't connect and doesn't give me any error messages.
Here are some commands I've typed into a command terminal after making sure to connect my USB dongle and disconnect the wired connection.

Hello,
Try this: restart your PC without using the Restart option from the menu. You choose to shut down the PC, then turn it back on and see if your Wi-Fi works this time.

Yeah, old trick, good hygiene... it works. Thanks!
Indeed, the WIFI worked after I restarted my PC as you indicated.
Thank you for your help.
However, the connection did not happen automatically; I had to select the network for it to connect. Yet the box is checked for "Connect automatically when this network is in range."
But this is not very bothersome. What is bothersome is having to restart my PC as you indicated every time because apparently an application does not close properly when I shut down my PC after using the WIFI.
Here is the message I get when I shut down my computer:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A program is still running:
at-spi-registryd.desktop
No response
Waiting for the program to finish. Interrupting the program could result in the loss of some data.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below this message are 3 buttons
- Lock screen
- Cancel
- Shut down anyway
And I feel that since the application does not close properly, my WIFI does not work the next time. And I have to restart my PC every time as you indicated.
Do you have a solution so that I no longer get this message and do not have to restart my PC every time?
Thank you,
Fabien

I think your wifi problem has absolutely nothing to do with your program that doesn't terminate.
I have a similar wifi issue on an MSI laptop: if I reboot the PC hot (using the restart option) with an Arch Linux-based distribution (Manjaro or Arch), I consistently lose the wifi connection. The only way to recover it is either to do a cold reboot (full shutdown followed by a startup as I just mentioned) or to go through sleep/wake.
Don't ask me why, I still haven't figured it out. If anyone has an idea, I'm all ears.
However, on Debian or Ubuntu-based distributions, the problem occurs occasionally but much less frequently.
For your program that won't stop, see here:

However, I had never received this message until now, and it only appears since I connect via WIFI with the help of my USB dongle.
I followed your link; let's see if it resolves my issue with the program that doesn't stop.
It's a shame there isn't any other "known" solution than to restart the PC cold or to put it to sleep and wake it up.
Anyway, thank you for your help.
