Hello,
For the past few days, I haven't been able to print or scan with my printer:
"Brother MFC-490CW"!
It displays the message "No Station ID" even though I'm not using Fax or Photo Capture.
Yet it was working fine a little while ago.
I have the feeling that the installed updates may have done something that I can't see...
Could you please help me?

For the fix ► See ► This link ► Click on the link at the bottom (second to last) KB 4567512 ► Download on the right for the version
and not another one
A new window will open and click on the blue line

You don't specify exactly how long this printer has not been working... but about 3 weeks ago, a Windows 10 update created a bug affecting Brother printers, and a fix needs to be installed to correct this bug...
Please specify the exact version of your Windows 10 by typing Winver in the search bar... then Winver.exe (top)

I also have the impression that it's due to a Windows update!
I don't know how to install the fix and correct this bug.

I wanted to thank you because thanks to you I was able to restore the correct settings and get my printer working again!! A thousand thanks for your invaluable help.
How can I disable Windows 10 updates because I am afraid of ending up in the same situation if updates were to occur! Best regards.
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad for you if everything is okay now..
Personally, I had the same issue with a Brother and since I absolutely needed it, I bought a new one because the fix still hadn't come after about ten days following the bug..
I advise against disabling Windows 10 updates, especially since there aren't many now
If there are problems just in case, come back to CCM and you'll always find someone to help you...

The fix took a little while to install, but it was worth the wait.
I did a restart of course and now it works.

I had the same problem at my home in July and you helped me a lot with that. This time, it's my parents' printer that is no longer recognized by their computer.
I can't print or scan with their printer: "HP ENVY 5030"!
The computer does not "find" the printer!
I have the impression that the latest updates installed must have done something...
