Thank you very much. Do you know if an RJ45 adapter will do the trick?

Hello, I tried with an adapter but it's still the same, it keeps asking me to connect to Wi-Fi even though I'm on Ethernet, I don't understand.

Hello,

bendrop asked me to see if I can help you... I'll try ;)

In this type of error, you should:

First,

- Make sure absolutely nothing is connected to the Mac except for the ethernet cable connected to the router

- Then, reset the PRAM:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT204063

- Next, reset the SMC:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT201295

- Then, force the Mac to start from the recovery partition by holding down these 2 keys:
cmd R

throughout the entire startup phase

- If this type of startup doesn't work, try to force the Mac to start from a recovery partition located on Apple's servers, via the internet. To do this, hold down these 3 keys throughout the entire startup phase

Alt cmd R

- When the OS X utilities window appears, do not immediately request OS installation, but first launch Disk Utility to perform a disk repair (a SSD, actually):

https://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/45227-utilitaire-de-disque-sous-os-x-10-11-et-versions-ulterieures

- Then exit Disk Utility, and start the reinstallation process:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT204904

NOTE 1: if this still fails, restart the Mac while holding down these 4 keys throughout the entire startup phase:

Shift alt cmd R

This should prompt the installation of the original version of the OS instead of the latest compatible OS version.

NOTE 2: I don't know your original OS or the last OS used, while the use of Disk Utility differs slightly in both cases. So, for additional information:

https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37641569-entretenir-et-reparer-macos-x-10-12-10-13-et-suivants

NOTE 3: if you have nothing to lose in terms of data on this Mac, when you are using Disk Utility, before proceeding to reinstallation, format your internal boot drive. On Macbook Air, it is an SSD and not a traditional disk, the formatting scheme is always GUID, but depending on the OS version, the format will be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" or "APFS". If the OS version to be reinstalled is at least macOS 10.13 (High Sierra), you should favor the APFS format.

Hopefully, this will move things forward...

Best regards.
