Everything is in the title. The network card of my laptop is dead, so for a few months, I've been using a Wi-Fi dongle. Unfortunately, it just "broke" (it keeps disconnecting from my PC or my PC says the device is not recognized). I've just bought a new one that works great. It might be a silly question, but it intrigues me, should I eject my dongle every time my PC goes into sleep mode or before I completely remove the dongle, or should I leave everything as is? I'm asking because, for example, some devices won't prompt for ejection, but that’s the case for the dongle, and I’m worried that’s what caused the old one to break...

Hello,
No, it has no usefulness for a WIFI dongle.
Already, with a USB key, the interest is very limited (I have never done it and have never had any memorable problems). In the case of a USB key, it is meant to prevent data damage if the USB key is being written to, for example.
it keeps disconnecting from my PC
Maybe a soldering issue in the dongle? That has happened before. To check this, you can open the dongle and try pressing on the controller, for example. If there are soldering issues, it would be detected by maintaining pressure on it.

Alright, thank you very much! Indeed, it often detached, that's why I was rather talking about a break (even though I still don't understand why my PC didn't recognize the device).
