Hello,
I found a 1979 Akai turntable AP-005 in my attic and I want to repair it. I started by taking off the bottom of the turntable but I can't get the platter off. I would like to remove the platter to change the belt. If you have any advice, please don't hesitate; I need tips!

    Hello.

For most turntables in general, it's like in the video. Be careful, it's rare but seen on a few models that there was a small retaining circlip right at the aluminum platter. It may also be that this platter is "stuck" as they say, and therefore requires a more rigorous effort to get it off its axis.
