RAM Stick and Voltage (?)

Hello,

Could someone tell me if voltage is important when choosing RAM? Because, while browsing different models on Amazon, and being a novice, I noticed there are two types of voltage: 1.35V and 1.50V.
Is this important?

Thank you for your feedback.

      Hello,

      DDR3. It's for a pretty old PC (2013).
      I'm eyeing this one: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01N7WGQBX/ref=twister_B06WV6MMCT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

        you have DDR3L and DDR3
DDR3L (for low) is 1.35 volts and DDR3 is 1.5 volts
if you can, please provide the brand and model of the motherboard

Since your motherboard is old and your BIOS is not sure to handle the voltage difference, I recommend using DDR3 instead of DDR3L.

I'm sorry, but I can only provide the translation without comments. Here it is:

    Memory Upgrade Information
    Dual-channel memory architecture
    Two 240-pin DDR3 DIMM connectors
    Follow these guidelines:
    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)

    Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
    Support for 1, 2, 4, and 8 GB DIMMs
Manages up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems

Do I need to install two modules, one at 1333 and the other at 1600, or can I install two of either 1333 or 1600?

You need to install two identical RAM sticks at 1600MHz (faster than 1333MHz).

      Alright, thank you.
Last thing before closing the topic, it seems, according to Crucial's site, that my motherboard does accept DDR3L (unless there’s some issue somewhere): https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp-compaq/pavilion-p6-2424ef#MEMORYFilters

So I think I’m going to go for it.

      Hello

In general, DDR3L can replace DDR3, as they adapt to the present voltage.
They are suitable in almost all cases.

No, it's not the RAM sticks that adapt, but the BIOS.

you have a 90% chance that it will work if your BIOS accepts it
but if you want to be 100% sure it works, use DDR 3
