Hello everyone!
On my Norton Account, how can I renew and activate my Norton Deluxe 360° product with a retail product key without having to enter my billing information, such as my credit card number and security code?
I can cancel the automatic renewal afterwards, but I still have to enter payment personal information, which I absolutely do not want to do.
In previous years, I never had this issue.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello, when it was time to renew my license-card sold in a store, I tried to follow the procedure according to Norton, but it didn't work, so I took a different approach by clicking on the question mark next to the settings on the main page of my Norton antivirus, and a support center menu appeared. Among the topics, there is:
Enter the product key then once you have entered this key, you need to click on next.
In the next window, you are offered to enter your credit card number, but it's not mandatory because you can click, I believe, on SKIP, and there I was able to activate my license after 2 long hours of research... I wish you good luck! Luce

Hello,
"with a product key purchased in stores"
- Install the retail version
- Enter the key when prompted.

Thank you very much for your help and advice.
(I have been struggling for 2 to 3 days trying to find a solution)
Your last response regarding "Amazon" confirms what I have discovered on my end.
One of my friends has the same issue as I do and managed to get the information I feared: indeed, it is absolutely necessary to enter your billing information after entering the product key numbers in order to finally activate the product (and to disable the automatic renewal afterwards while the banking information will have already been entered).
And this obligation has been mandatory since this year 2019. This change is due to the fact that "Norton by Symantec" has become "Norton LifeLock," which manages subscriptions and product renewals differently.
On the Norton forum, I am advised to do "a live chat"; which I refuse. I just wanted an explanatory answer to my question.
Therefore, I still don't know if I will continue with Norton (which I have been using for 10 years).
If I continue with Norton, in your opinion, is it better for me to provide my credit card details or should I rather use a PayPal account (knowing that nothing will be charged this year since I have already paid for the product activation key and that next year, I will buy another one)? I also hope that their site is really secure (as I have never given my banking information, nor paid with my credit card online for anyone)
Looking forward to your opinion.

Hello to both of you!
Thank you for your responses.
I was already aware of the links you mentioned.
Whether it's:
- from my Norton Account
- from my Norton window on my computer (in the taskbar)
- from the link provided on the card with the product key purchased in-store

I always encounter this billing information request after entering my product key.
If I don't enter this information, I cannot activate the purchased Norton product.
I specifically bought a card with the Norton 360° product key in stores to avoid entering my banking details! And here I am, caught!
One of my friends told me it was to "force the automatic renewal" year after year directly on the Norton site (even though there's a possibility to disable it afterwards after installing the product). Of course, I've never subscribed to automatic renewal (including the version of Norton I am currently using that is about to expire).
Of course, I also asked the question on the Norton website, but to this day, I have not received a response.
Catch you later for further advice.

On your current version that is about to expire, is the auto-renewal enabled or disabled on your account?
(by default it should be active, so it needs to be disabled)
You can also provide images of this step if it helps to visualize (without sensitive information)

Re... !
I bought my Norton Deluxe 360° product key at Carrefour like every year and have been doing so for several years, without ever having any issues in the past when renewing my product.
While doing research online again, I realize that I am not the only one having this billing information issue to enter on the Norton website after entering the 25 digits of the product key (many users have left Norton for this reason).
Moreover, Norton by Symantec is now called Norton LifeLock: could this be due to the change?
A+.

By the way, I researched your product and here's what I found on Amazon:

PREPAID SUBSCRIPTION WITH ONLINE SIGN-UP AND ACTIVATION: a payment method (credit card or PayPal) must be registered in your Norton account in order to activate and use it.¹ You will not be charged until the prepaid period has elapsed.
Hello everyone!
I installed my Norton product on my 5 devices last night
(after disabling "automatic renewal")
After all, I paid for my activation key!
However, I might consider another solution for next year.
Conclusion: hardly acceptable (Norton Symantec = Norton LifeLock).
"If no entry of billing personal information, no activation of the Norton product"
(whether purchased with an activation key in a store, on a website, or from Norton)
I sincerely wanted to thank everyone who tried to help me.
Kudos for your spirit of solidarity!
Have a good day. See you later on the forum.

Hello. My response concerns the question from "Nisha90"
(whose post appears higher on the screen and whose question I received today by email)
1) I never uninstalled the "automatic renewal" of Norton 360° because apparently, it's not possible or how to do it? Because afterwards, you can't install Norton 360°.
You're required to enter your bank details in order to install Norton 360°, even if you've purchased a card with a product key in store. I just unchecked the relevant box afterwards so that I wouldn't be charged on my bank account for my future renewal.
2) To date, I haven't had any withdrawal issues with Norton.
And you, how did you proceed? Did you also enter your bank details?
Thank you in advance for your response.

Re… !
1°) I don’t own a CD but a prepaid card with an activation key (25 digits)
2°) A friend, who also wanted to renew his Norton product, has the same issue as I do; he tried to uninstall his current Norton to install the new one with his activation key but that doesn’t work either.
You still have to enter your billing information.
See you for another solution.

Hello and thank you for your response!
That's what I used to do every year with your solution.
But this year, after entering my key, I still have to enter my billing information if I want to activate the product (otherwise, no activation) on the screen that appears after entering my key; which is still illogical.
I am therefore waiting for another response.

Our last 2 posts crossed paths.

I have already tried your solution; but without success as I still have to provide the billing information.
See you.

Re...! It's me again!
Well, we'll meet again in 2 new posts that I’m going to create!
1st issue: VPN
2nd issue: Recognition of my devices by Norton.
I'm losing it! In 10 years of using Norton, it's the first time I've had trouble with them.
See you soon!

Hello,
Following "Activating or renewing your Norton product using a product key or code"
On this page:

When does it ask for your credit card?
Is the code validated?

Good evening,
I find this request for billing information normal, but still...
https://support.norton.com/sp/fr/fr/home/current/solutions/kb20080417115558EN
I think the solution lies here in bold;
" Enter your billing information to activate automatic renewal or check your payment method if it is already saved to your account.
The enemy is foolish: he thinks we are the enemy when it is actually him!
Pierre Desproges
(Windows 10 configuration).

I just looked again at my Norton account, which has 4 tabs.
Subscription Tab:
On the 1st line: "Norton Security Deluxe" + "Renew" button
On the 2nd line: "5 licenses out of 5 used" + "Manage licenses" + "Download"
On the last line:
Annual subscription = Expiration + Expired: xx/xx/2019 + Key: xxxxx + Serial No: xxxx
Personal Info Tab: my contact details
Billing Tab: no information has been entered
Order History Tab: list of my Norton products year after year
I note in passing that I have no "Automatic Renewal" button (to enable or disable) in any of the tabs; so in the event that it is enabled, where could it possibly be?
Looking forward to your opinion.
