Very slow transfer on Google Drive

It's an average speed. I think that the upload speed should be higher than what I calculated (0.17 Mb/s).

Run a test on https://www.speedtest.net/fr to know the actual upload and download speeds. These values can vary throughout the day. So it's better to run the test again.

The connection between the box and the computer has a significant influence.
- The best option is a wired connection.
- With Wi-Fi, the speed heavily depends on the environment (concrete walls, distance from the box). In unfavorable conditions, it's better to use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi rather than 5 GHz.
- With powerline adapters, there can be significant degradation.

So if, with a wired connection, you don't measure more than 0.17 Mb/s, I think you should contact your ISP to discuss the issue.

Regarding the equipment, I would like to know how your computer is connected to the box and what type of connection you have (fiber or ADSL).

That's a high upload speed for ADSL (low for fiber).

Since one byte corresponds to 8 bits, that makes 0.021 * 8 = 0.169 Mb/s

You need to know how far you are from the local exchange and also check what the download speed is at the same time.

ADSL is slow for uploads. You have to live with it, and for me, it's not better even being closer to the DSLAM.

Since it's a Free forum, one shouldn't hastily conclude that it's an issue caused by Free.
This is clearly stated in the first response:

The problem disappears as soon as we use a VPN. Furthermore, in my building, people with Free have the issue, while those with SFR, Bouygues, or Orange do not. All of this rather points to a Free problem than a problem with Google.
