Hello,
I had an old version of Gimp (2.3 I think) that sometimes prevented me from moving layers to position them where I wanted.
I recently installed version 2.10 thinking this bug would have disappeared... tragic mistake, it's worse!
Now, I can't make any movements, and when I try, it tells me in the taskbar "there is no selection to move"... except that the selection is definitely there..
Anyway, I'm at my wit's end...
Thank you for your help
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 76.0.3809.132

Hello
Yes, the ergonomics of Gimp and its functioning are not always obvious, I agree.
With the latest version (2.10.12) I tested, but I have no issues. According to the internet, in previous versions (which I haven't used), this error message could appear if the tool selection was incorrect.
Is it the same version?

- I'm glad :) Yes, in this version we can "fix" the tools in the panel/window, I prefer that to the "floating" ones. You need to go into the settings, I can't remember where.
