PS3 Controller Disconnection Issue

Hello,

I hope you're doing well!
I'm here seeking a solution for a rather annoying problem with my PS3, as I haven't been able to find anything through Google.

My issue is with a controller that keeps disconnecting continuously (as if I'm pressing the PS button). For example, in RPGs, there are no problems during exploration phases, but as soon as a battle starts, it disconnects. I can reconnect by pressing the button, but it disconnects again a few seconds later.

I've tested with fully charged controllers, tried several controllers, and even tried keeping the controller plugged in, but nothing works...
I've also tried both controller ports, with the same issue.

Do you think it's a connectivity problem? And if so, can it be repaired?

Looking forward to hearing from you :-)

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 68.0

    Hello,

If it was a connectivity issue, you should be able to play with either the cable or Bluetooth. But not both.

I had seen this kind of problem a long time ago; it was due to an update.

What model of PS3 do you have?
Normally, when you turn off your console and then turn it off with the ON/OFF button at the back, then turn it back on with the controller connected via cable, it should work.

    Hello,

Thank you for this reply :-)

It’s an 80 GB PS3 FAT (originally, as I replaced the HDD a few years ago with a 500 GB one).

Indeed, the problem appeared overnight; a faulty update might be possible.

I always turn it off with the On/Off switch; I will try to turn it back on with the cable plugged in just in case :-)

    Thanks!!!
