How to use the 8-digit recovery codes on Instagram?

I will explain my problem. I have an Instagram account that is very important for my work and personal use. Not remembering my password, I wanted to reset it to change it, which I did, but having enabled two-factor authentication, Instagram wants to send me a message to my number... The problem is that I am in the United States for my studies for 2 months (so I have no access to my French SIM card).
So I cannot log in since I am being asked for a code sent to a number that I cannot use.

I had taken a screenshot of the recovery codes (8 digits), so I have them but I have no idea where to put them. Knowing that the verification code from the phone is a 6-digit code.

Could you please help me recover my Instagram account and explain where to enter these recovery codes...?
