Samsung LE40A626 TV: bothersome fan

Hello everyone,
I have had a Samsung LE40A626 40-inch television for six or seven years, which works well (except for the remote control, which I manage perfectly fine without).
For a few weeks, after being on for ten to twenty minutes, a fan (I think that's what it is) starts running. It is quite noisy and therefore bothersome.
Does this mean my television is about to give up on me soon? Is there any trick to avoid this fan?
