Sleep issue on Linux Mint
Solved
Hello,
I installed Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon on my laptop a week ago and I have a rather particular problem: when I put my computer to sleep, it closes all my applications.
I have to put my laptop to sleep as soon as I leave my desk because I'm in an open space, and if I don't lock my session, some clever people spread the word that I'm going to buy croissants for everyone the next day :D
Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Hello,
Regarding the standby, you need to make sure you have enough swap space to store applications on the disk during hibernation.
As for the issues with croissants, you can simply lock your session without triggering hibernation. There is a button for this purpose in Cinnamon (you act as if you're logging out, but instead of clicking the logout button, you use the one that locks the session). It should also be possible to add a widget to lock your session with one click.
When your session is locked and the power-saving standby mode is activated, it would be interesting to see if the applications are then restored correctly.
Good luck.

In fact, it was a problem between the chair and the computer ;)
I had kept my reflexes from Ubuntu to lock my session, namely: ctrl + Alt + del and enter (which would lock my computer).
Now on Linux Mint, if I do this command, it logs out :(
So now I do ctrl + Alt + L and my session is locked.
Thank you for the reply anyway.
