I thought my TV was totally malfunctioning, but I found an article from LG that says sometimes, rarely, the lack of signal can be due to a timeout in the HDCP Handshake (in summary, it's when 2 devices connected via HDMI negotiate their respective DRM licenses). When the devices are powered on, it's fine for the future, but this can happen again if everything is turned off and then turned back on. It is always recommended to turn on the TV first and the sources afterwards.
