Hello,
I just got the Nokia N72 and installed the latest version of Nokia PC Suite, but when I connect the phone to the PC, no connection is established and my PC says "Unknown USB".
I'm wondering if someone can help me solve my problem.
Thank you

I have a Nokia 5200 phone and a USB cable. I can connect it to my PC, and I used to do it often. It's to transfer sounds and videos.
A solution among others that worked very well for my Nokia E72:
1° Go to:
Control Panel
> Add/Remove Programs
> Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
2° Click on Modify
3° Click on Repair
4° Restart your PC and cross your fingers
Normally, your Nokia should be detected again by your computer, updates may be requested, please do them.
I hope this helps some people.

Thank you, tribun,
unfortunately, the operation is not that simple; I can't find the multiple choice option in connections, so I can't sync it on the other side.
Additionally, I spent half an hour with Nokia and they ended up saying that it's either the phone (not an up-to-date version, yet it's one of my operator's new models), or it's the cable (it's the CA-53, compatible according to Nokia's website).
There you go, if anyone has other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
Thank you.

Hello
here is the technical sheet for your mobile
probably your CA-53 cable is not compatible!!!!!
see below, connection!!!! you will need the original Nokia cable, USB 2.0 mass storage
you have 2 connection options, cable or bluetooth, no infrared!!!!!

Hello,
the technical sheet of the Nokia on their official website (https://www.nokia.com/404/ shows that it is indeed the right cable.
Besides, I have the original cable as I just bought the complete set. When I spoke to Nokia on the phone, they did not deny the compatibility of the cable with the mobile phone.
I feel like this situation is going nowhere!!

It's not hopeless, and I also have a Nokia,
and the connection is feasible, since the N72 device has 2 connection options!
It's just your problem to find the connection,
you must have the connectivity function on your device,
search in all applications if necessary, you will find it!!! With a little patience!!!!!

In my connectivity menu, I have:
- bluetooth =>active
=>visible
=>phone name
=>linked equipment
-synchronization =>lifeblog: not synced (by the way, it doesn't want to sync)
=>nokia PC suite not synced
-console manager => no active connection (impossible to connect, so it just offers to exit this mode)
-wireless keyboard => none connected
-push to talk=>none active
and in the settings, there is nothing related to the connection.
Honestly, it's really hard to find better. Moreover, no USB logo on the home screen, in short, no way to connect!!!

Go to Control Panel
If Nokia PC Suite is properly installed,
you have Nokia modem Option, click on it, you should see your Nokia's name and connection type!! Modem, checked
you need a Nokia modem, otherwise no connection.
Then you have Nokia Connection Manager, check if a connection is checked, Bluetooth or cable!!!
For a Bluetooth connection, your PC must have Bluetooth!!!
For the cable, the cable driver may be missing, download it from the Nokia website!!!!!!!

Hello,
after multiple attempts, I finally sent back my operator the phone (n72) in order to acquire a new one. I will have a choice, and I would like to know your opinion on the Samsung U600 in terms of reliability and performance.
Thank you for the advice on the N72, but unfortunately, it was futile!

Hello
It is likely that Nokia PC Suite cannot establish the PC/GSM connection.
For my Nokia, I don't know how to connect via Bluetooth
but I can do it via cable.
Even though the PC and Nokia are Bluetooth-enabled.
Nokia PC Suite tells me it cannot make the connection!
Yet my GSM is displayed in Nokia PC Suite.

No! my PC is Bluetooth.
but it's the Nokia PC Suite that doesn't make the connection via Bluetooth,
yet my mobile is recognized by the PC Suite.
and my mobile recognizes my PC via Bluetooth.
it connects well via cable.
it's curious, I'm looking but I can't find anything for Bluetooth.

It must surely come from the phone because I don't know if it's the same for you, but when I go to Menu> settings > connectivity > data transfer > sync > then Option > change mode > where it says "Data Carrier" it says bluetooth and apparently we can't change that =s
Have you installed the software for your Nokia on your PC?
