How to get Nintendo Switch sound and image on a projector?

Hello,

how can we get both the image and sound from a Nintendo Switch to a projector that doesn’t have built-in speakers?

The projector can work with HDMI and VGA, I believe.

If I connect via HDMI, I risk only getting the image.
Otherwise, is it possible to connect via HDMI to a laptop and then from the laptop to the projector using VGA? We could get the image on the projector and the sound from the laptop, right?

P.S.: I haven't tested it on the projector in question yet. I haven't had the chance. I just want to know if it's possible.

So what I suggested in my message can't work (switch => laptop => projector)?

It's the work projector (it's for playing during lunch break) and we don't have any speakers or sound system.
