When I choose to save my applications and files, I get the following message:
"The upgrade option is not available if you are starting your computer using Windows installation media;
If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to proceed with an upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. Once Windows has restarted normally, insert the installation media and run the Windows installer."
Remove the installation media?
Insert the installation media?

I try, one after another, each partition where I choose "refresh" and not "format", and for each of the partitions, I get the following message:
"Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has a partition table MBR. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed on GPT disks."
What should I do?

Under the step "Where do you want to install Windows", there are 5 options:
Upgrade
Delete
Format
Load a driver
Extend
Am I choosing "upgrade" correctly?

Thank you very much for your help, I found all my folders and files as well as the applications in Windows.old
Nevertheless, the files were not up to date because, despite the failure of the system image restoration attempt I made before asking for help, it still must have attached the files I had saved a month earlier on my external hard drive!

My external hard drive is healthy, the green ribbon for the system image backup went well until the end, and yet, in the end, I got the error code "080042405-0XA001A" ??
Are automatic backups, on a second disk D:\, configured in "Security update" "backups" "automatically back up my files" reliable?
Can this system be used to back up applications and Windows 10?

Hello.
Malekal, here we are!
I'm back on the subject of Windows backups; could it simply be that every time, we need to format the drive before making a backup because Windows doesn't seem to like it when there's already something on the drive?
For example, this morning, I did a backup on my D:\ drive and I got an incorrect backup message, then I formatted my hard drive, but despite everything, I'm still getting the following message:
"An error occurred while backing up files (C:\Users\jpf42\Documents). Error: STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002)"
And the following screenshot:

It was never a question of going to upgrade.
