Uncheck "Make this screen the main screen"

Hello,
I've been struggling with this Windows 10 and its recurring issues for a while now. Ever since I mistakenly checked the box for <make this="" my="" main="" display=""> found in the display settings (right-click on the desktop) when another screen is connected, in HDMI on my part.
I've never had any issues with this until now.
Before, I would plug my HDMI into my computer (for your info, an OMEN i5 laptop) and boom, I have my computer on my TV (I plug it into my TV) and there were no display issues or screen resolution problems, everything was great. But since this unfortunate checkbox incident, it’s been a different story.
I had found a solution, and you’re probably going to laugh. I had to do a system restore (which, aside from that, ended up with a message saying the restore failed...) to resolve the display issue on my TV via HDMI. But that was only for a while because, like magic, the next day when I wanted to connect my computer to the TV again, the same problem returned.
And the problem is that I have NOTHING, no image, but there is a signal since my TV doesn’t say there's no signal. Sometimes I get sound but it doesn’t last long, and I still don't have the slightest image. I can return to my laptop screen with the HDMI still connected, and through display settings, I can see both screens. I can duplicate it, but nothing else works. Duplicating one screen onto the other distorts the resolution of one or the other, resulting in a poor resolution on my TV.
Please, you are my last hope. Aside from saving what I can and then reinstalling Windows 10, I don’t see any other solution. I’m losing hope.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 71.0.3578.98</make>

I don't know if I'm the only one who has noticed that Microsoft Windows has a strong hold over our computer (its OS) and actively prevents you from changing certain things. For example, there’s that checkbox in the Display Settings. There's also the fact that Windows forces updates without our knowledge, against our will, updates that crash our computer because they're full of Planned Obsolescence and these updates delete all previously created restore points.
To get back to my topic, regarding the screen, I'm starting to go crazy to the point where I might have to stop stressing about it for fear of breaking everything :-/
I've tried everything I knew/could do. I did think about deactivating the Windows service related to screens, etc., but I couldn't find it.
In short, if you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.
Thank you and Happy New Year
P.S.: I'm not connecting TWO screens but just ONE since I have a laptop, I can't remove the main one :-) and it's on the second one (television) that I'm having an issue.
