Good evening everyone, a friend gave me a software on a USB stick (AutoData 3.40), and when I click on the software logo I get an error message: "Cannot run the code because SentinelKeyW.dll is missing. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

Can you help me? I didn't install anything, just took the folder from my USB stick and tried to launch the software by clicking on the icon. Do I need to install something?

Good evening,

I believe this software is protected, it requires a key... and in your case, you don't have the key. I think your friend is using it with a crack and it doesn’t work well at your place... the sentinel has spotted you.

I think you need to talk to your friend... but here, we don't help with those things..

We don't know anything about computers! He bought the software 5 years ago when he was in another country! I have nothing to blame myself for in that regard! I also find it too easy! Thanks for the info! I won't go further! Lol

What is this software, is it for drawing or auto diagnostics..?? because it seems to still exist; and some say it works on Windows 10...???...

But your buddy must have had a key when he bought it...?? or does he know very well whether a key was needed or not..??

It's for the cars! Well, it's on a friend's computer that he got back five years ago and he has no idea how he did it! He's not at all comfortable with computers! .. I'm going to try to check his computer! If he has an activation code at the time of purchase, does that mean it can only be used for one PC?

It seems that AUTODATA is free..?? It's version 3.45 in English and 3.38 in French...

Sometimes, depending on the version of Windows, it needs to be set to XP compatibility mode... I have to say that I can't try it.

I also believe that this software works with accessories/sensors that are connected to the PC to check the car... and that's where the verification happens that serves as the key for the software.. the famous "Dongle"
