There is no RAT or other junk installed on your PC.. NOTHING has been recorded.. NONSENSE.. FAKE..
YOU do NOT have to PAY... We should never give in to blackmail, especially if it is unfounded..
If it helps, place a piece of opaque paper over the peephole of your webcam and just sleep easy.. You were not personally targeted by this stupid email..

Received today as well. I wanted to forward the message to a friend who is well-versed in what I consider "computer mysteries." Total refusal to send my message by my messaging software! (ClawMail). Strange, isn't it? The only solution found: sending him a screenshot of the message... The text can still be copied to be slipped into a text editor, for example. But no way to transfer via the messaging software. It's still quite curious!

I received a message last night that was similar in content to those mentioned earlier, but not in form, and where the sender's name (in bold) was the same as my email inbox from which I received it. The person presented themselves as a hacker who had hacked my devices a few months ago while I was visiting a porn site. They are asking me to transfer a certain amount of money to a Bitcoin address if I don't want compromising things to be sent to my loved ones and contacts, and that once this is done, they will erase that data and leave me alone.
I was so panicked last night that I couldn't read the message in full, and it was one of my close friends present at that moment who read it for me and summarized it this way.
Of course, I absolutely refuse to pay this person, but seeing that the sender's email address is the same as my receiving inbox prevents me from having peace of mind.
Moreover, in my panic last night, I deleted this message from my trash, so I no longer have any proof in case I need to go to the police to file a complaint.
What should I do?

I received a similar type of email demanding a ransom within 48 hours...
In my case, the email was sent with my own address, and the message included the password I typically use with that email address (online stores, forums...).
I discarded the email without responding, but I just checked on Haveibeenpwned to see if my email address had been compromised.
Results:
"Oh no — pwned!
Pwned on 5 breached sites and found no pastes (subscribe to search sensitive breaches)"
Is this worrying? I admit it's quite unsettling...
I will change my password on all the sites where I used it. Is that enough?

You need to change all your passwords.
You should use the same one on all websites, and one of those sites has been hacked and the passwords have been retrieved.
