Hello,
I have just acquired an Asus E402w laptop. When I purchased it, I also got a Toshiba "Mobile Hard Drive L200", 1TB, 2.5".
There is a slot on the laptop for adding a hard drive (Photo 1)

But when installing the hard drive, I notice that it is slightly too tall to fit into the connections. I have the impression that this is due to the metal protection. Should I remove it?

Thank you

Good evening,
Please do not remove the "metal protection," as it is what makes the hard drive completely airtight! If a hard drive were not airtight, even the slightest dust on one of the disks would cause errors and data loss.
