CPU overheating at 65/75 degrees or even 80.

Hello, I would like to ask why my CPU (processor) overheats when I play games at 200 fps, knowing that I have the original Intel cooler and only one fan in my case. Would buying a new cooler change the temperature? Thank you!

Hello,

The stock Intel cooler is effective for standard office/multimedia use, but it quickly shows its limits during intensive sessions...

What is your processor? (for the compatibility of coolers we can recommend)

Hello, thank you for your response. My processor is an i3 7350k while I have 0 fans running except for the original Intel heatsink, thank you!

Do you have a budget for a new CPU cooler? Acquiring at least one additional fan, if only to expel the hot air from inside the case, would be an excellent addition.

It talks about the heatsink but underneath the fan, between it and your processor, there is what is called "thermal paste". For 5-6 euros, you can get MX-2 from Arctic, and that's what I used between my i5 and the original heatsink. It goes up to 45°C when it's idle and around 60°C or a bit more on more demanding games.

But it doesn't reach 80°C or risk overheating, so it's fine.

Except that when we make our computers smoke, we put thermal paste on them every year :/
A tube is inexpensive, it doesn't cost anything to try
Well, it's true that you need a stronger heatsink, but I think it should hold up a bit before doing all that ^^

Thermal paste is changed every year when using a poor radiator... I built my current PC four years ago and my processor is still at a maximum of 45° during intensive sessions. And I used the paste provided with the heatsink, so it's not the best quality... Moreover, if there are no other fans, the new paste won't change the fact that the temperature inside the case remains high...

Some thermal paste with a slightly beefier heatsink would do the trick ^^
You can find some pretty good heatsinks for 20€ on Amazon or elsewhere, it's up to you to decide :)

Well in that case I advise you to get an extra fan that's not too expensive
I recommend fixing it at the back to have an airflow, so if you place the PC horizontally with the front face to the right, the air should flow like this:

Basically, you position the CPU cooler so that it blows hot air towards the back of the PC, onto the additional fan that will expel it outside.
