Hello, is it possible to send the image from my computer to my TV via SFR box, wirelessly? If so, what is the solution? Thank you for your responses.    Configuration: Linux / Chrome 65.0.3325.146

Uh, I’m not sure if I should respond or comment, so I’ll do both!!! Thank you for your response; regarding the first link, it seems that the multimedia gateway only works on Computer: Windows 7, 8, 10 / Mac OS X 10.7+ / ChromeOS But not on Linux Mageia. As for the second link, I need to look into that more closely; in any case, thank you for your help.

Hello, thank you for your replies. For your information, I contacted Chromecast by phone, and given that my computer is located next to my router (50 cm away) and my TV is situated 7 to 8 meters further away with walls and windows to cross, the person I spoke with on the phone told me that it wouldn't work given that distance. To make it work, I would need to add a fixed IP repeater!!!! With all the brands available and at all prices, it becomes quite complicated to make a choice to carry out this operation!! Not to mention the implementation and setup of all this equipment, which can't be that simple. That's where I am for now; I haven't found a solution that seems satisfactory for my particular situation. Thank you for your replies.

This information was not part of the criteria at the beginning of this POST... it was described in a much simpler way.  It is indeed possible that this added distance of partitions and glass might be a bit much to overcome for WiFi... Impossible to measure without being on site... Let's add that with distance, there is a loss of WiFi speed... hence lagging images.  But there may be other solutions, depending on the house's possibilities...??? For example... if it is possible to run an Ethernet cable underneath the house, close to the TV... that is the most effective solution that works every time... Otherwise, there are also powerline adapters that use the existing 220V wiring of the house, as long as it's not three-phase and the electrical installation is not too old... Hello, jeannets thank you very much for this very detailed response. Concerning the Ethernet cable, it's going to be very complicated, if not impossible, given the configuration of my house. Regarding the powerline adapters, that's what I currently have at home to get TV through ADSL. I have the SFR box connected to a powerline socket and the TV also connected to a powerline socket. I’ll add a little information about three-phase power since I have three-phase power and the powerline solution works very well as long as both powerline sockets are plugged into the same phase. Of course, if one of the powerline sockets is plugged into one phase and the other into a different phase, it won't work since we're using the continuity of electrical wires to carry the digital signal and there is no continuity between two different phases, but on the same phase, there’s no problem; it works. Then, regarding the link, I believe it’s about the product  Amlogic X96 S905X Android 6.0 TV BOX Quad Core 2 GB 16 GB Fully Loaded KODI X96 Smart TV Box  For now, I haven’t quite understood how it works and the link with the powerline sockets, but I will look into it more closely. Yes, I see that you understood the story of the phases well, I hadn't gone into detail..  -- I don't know your house, so I'm asking.. So CPL... you could add a third one to go to the “STB” near your TV... preferably an identical CPL, but not higher in frequency.  -- The Set Top Box product, that's it or a similar one... these products run on Android (which is indeed part of the Linux family) but its OS is completely independent, as it is from the other end. Personally, I don't use Kodi for that but an EZcast or Miracast application or another one in CAST, it's an APK application that installs like on Smartphones...  So your goal is to send the Molotof image from your PC to your TV.. You also install EZcast on your PC. You start your Set Top Box next to the TV and launch EZcast... it should find the Cast from your PC and launch your PC screen (there are several options) And in Molotof... you should have the Cast logo on your image, you click on it and it’s off to your TV  However, it should be noted that programs (live or replay) protected by DRM cannot be Cast.  There you go, something to ponder.

In fact, you don't have to use Caster Molotof for example... since on this STB Box, you can install the Molotof app for Android and it will work directly and your PC can be turned off.  The same goes for other applications like SFR TV or MyTF1 etc..  For DRM protections, a message appears on the screen... but we don't know that in advance... this thing is quite strange... some shows are well indicated for replay and when it comes time to replay, it's impossible.. sometimes you can watch on one smartphone and not on another..???

I tell myself that I do have a landline, but it might not be essential since I have two mobile phones at home. Then for TV, I receive it in two different ways: 1) through the antenna installed on the roof of my house (but no replay) 2) via ADSL SFR  If, in addition, I can receive TV through the STB box (real-time, replay, etc.), I might not need the SFR fixed subscription anymore ?!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to see this site https://www.fdn.fr/services/acces-internet/ that I didn't know. It seems very particular and is not necessarily the best price... And it won't suit you because it doesn't offer television or other video... it's true that these services are not part of the internet... even if everyone has gotten used to believing it and consuming gigabytes as if it were normal... You have to understand that it consumes at least 100 times more bandwidth than regular internet (the WEB) and it requires ISPs to have installations with powerful servers and pay the rights to TF1 and others...  So here are a few clarifications on the landscape...  In my opinion, the best current rate is with "Red by SFR" https://www.red-by-sfr.fr/offre-internet/#redintid=B_HP_voir-offre-box in VDSL if eligible for about 15€ a month with a landline included... without the cost of the TV decoder.... but streaming TV is still accessible with the STB box and Molotov for example.

Hello, indeed I agree with you, regarding fdn it seems that the prices are not the best, I even find them rather expensive. I am currently looking into the solution you mentioned, which would involve using the Set Top Box connected to the TV and linking it to my box via a third powerline adapter since the Wi-Fi signal for the Set Top Box would be too weak due to the distance. I’ve tried several times to set up a laptop right next to my TV and connect it to my box via Wi-Fi, but it doesn’t work. So let me recap what I'm thinking and planning to try: 1) I buy the Set Top Box and connect it to my TV 2) First, I won’t buy a third powerline adapter but will use the one I currently have connected to my TV decoder; I will disconnect it from the TV decoder to connect it to the Set Top Box. This allows me to do a test, let's say at a lower cost, since I only buy the Set Top Box for an amount of €38.99.  Then, if it works and if I want to keep the option of having TV like I do now through the SFR box, I’ll buy a third powerline adapter or a set of 3 more powerful powerline adapters than the ones I currently have. My 2 powerline adapters are 500 Mbps; maybe 1000 Mbps ones would be welcome. That's my thought process, thank you for giving me your opinion.

Good evening, I'm back on the subject because I purchased the Smart TV Box. I placed the box near my TV, quite far from my SFR box. I connected it to the TV via HDMI, and then plugged it in electrically. I connected a mouse to make the proposed selections. I then tried to connect it to my SFR box via Wi-Fi, but I couldn't do it; I think it's too far. So I plugged the box into a powerline adapter, with the other powerline adapter connected to the SFR box. I was then able to connect my box to my SFR box. So far so good, except that regarding the screen framing on my TV, it's not great. Let me explain, for example, I downloaded Molotov on the Smart TV Box, no problem, when I launch it, it works, except that on the TV screen I can't see everything that Molotov displays, especially the left panel that provides access to the entire Molotov menu!!! So that's a bit annoying!! I tried to adjust the image framing with the TV remote, but I couldn't manage it. Then I selected a TV channel either with Molotov or directly on the internet on France TV, there is no problem, it works except that the image quality is much worse compared to the image I get through my SFR service provider!!! Last problem, I couldn't get the remote provided with the Smart TV Box to work. So to summarize, for now I have 3 problems with the Smart TV Box:1) The framing of the image on the TV screen is not good2) The image sent by the Smart TV Box is poor3) I couldn't get the remote provided with the Smart TV Box to work; I made the various selections with a mouse connected to the box without problem except when I don't see everything on the screen!!!! There you go, I don't know if you can help me with this issue but thank you for taking the time to read.

For the image dimensions, I tried the suggestions in display, but I didn't find any noticeable differences. As for Molotov, it's simply that it doesn't present the same way on Android and Linux. I personally prefer the Linux layout, but oh well. The Android version is 7.1.2 Device name: X96W+ Model: X96W+    You tell me: "WiFi is not a good medium for TV; nothing beats a cable; PLC is a compromise, and you must respect the technical conditions to get good results." OK, but the PLC that I plug into the box is the one I unplug from my SFR decoder to test. So here I think the communication between the SFR decoder and the SFR box on one side and the X96W+ box and the SFR box on the other side is the same, right? Hello,  jeannets, thanks again for these detailed and very clear explanations.  Indeed, the issue with the misaligned screen has been resolved after a few tweaks.  For the powerline adapters, I will try to conduct the tests you suggested and I'll post as soon as I have results on that.  I haven't found the remote control yet, but it's working very well with a mouse, so it's not very important.  Overall, it's working pretty well at the moment, at least regarding the TV via the internet without going through SFR.  Now, I will look for an equivalent to the media center directly through the X96W+ box.  Thanks for all this information,

Why? It’s simpler to plug your X96+ directly into an HDMI port on your TV and you'll have all the X96 menus... basically, it's like an Android smartphone... with a mouse.  Otherwise, to cast to the TV, it’s called "Casting", but generally it goes through Wi-Fi and if your Wi-Fi is too far, it’s done for... and it also requires an HDMI... like Chromecast for example https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6006232?hl=fr
