Hello everyone,

For the past few days, I haven't been able to open a very important spreadsheet!
A window opens and offers me "file import." And if I click OK, a sheet opens but it's empty :(

I don't have a backup of this file and I don't know what to do, can you please help me?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 61.0

And no backups for a file deemed important...
    Disheartening.

What’s disappointing is your remark! I'm already frustrated enough about not being able to recover my file without you adding insult to injury!
Not everyone is an expert like you.... Through various forums, I read that it was indeed possible to make a backup; I didn’t know that....
With that, have a good evening, hoping that someone passes by and can help me.

You don't need to be an expert to make backups.
You just have to start your work again. As we used to say back in the day, practice makes perfect.
It's something I've often noticed in some people, this refusal to make backups, and on Excel, this refusal to lock formulas. As long as you haven't lost or messed up an important and urgent file, you don't understand the necessity...

    Hello,
Try to recover an old version of this file using Shadow Explorer.

And by going to Windows Explorer, right-click on the file name, properties/previous versions?

    Good evening everyone,

Unfortunately, I was unable to recover my file.
So I redid it, following your recommendations closely....

Tonight I want to open my file and here we go again !!!!
    "text import"

I right-click on the file name, properties/previous versions and I find nothing even though I had saved it properly!!!

Can you please let me know if there is another place where my file could be?

    Thanks in advance :'(

    Hello^^
So, I'm at my wit's end, I hope you can help me.

After losing an Open Office file a few months ago, I discovered bak archives (novice),
so I configured my software to save the archives every 15 minutes.

And this morning, my computer crashed again, and I can't open the bak archive by copying and pasting it to the desktop and changing the extension to "ods"... yet there are 230 k of data in the bak archive... I had done it this way before and it worked.
help and thank you in advance.

    LibreOffice or OpenOffice?
Is it really a Spreadsheet file?
unable to open the bak archive an error message?

Hello and thank you, yes it's an Open Office (Apache) spreadsheet
No error message, but it opens a blank spreadsheet when I change to the ods extension...
      Thank you
