Hello everyone,

Since this morning, I've been having trouble joining voice parties on my PS4 console (the first one). It says "Unable to join this voice party, please try again later." The worst part is that sometimes it makes me leave the voice party in the middle of a conversation and tells me that I have a connection problem, and when I try to join, I get the messages I showed you. I have to restart my PlayStation for it to work. The problem can't be my connection because I have fiber and I'm connected to an amplifier. Please help me.

    Having fiber means nothing.

Having a high speed isn't enough when playing online; the ping is almost more important than the speed (ping being the response time between you and the game servers AND between you and the players)

Some ISPs have good speed but terrible ping

OK except that this has nothing to do with games, plus I have very good ping, but your answer does not solve my problem at all. I even wonder if you know what a voice party is because it has nothing to do with video games. Moreover, I can play with friends without any bugs or lag.

Thank you, I know what a party is PS4 and it's still related even if with your condescending tone you think otherwise :) If I conflated online games/PS4 it's because Party is linked to it. We gather there, we launch shared games, in short, we're not far off either. Anyway, Party is nothing more than an IRC 2.0 with audio added and when we use a protocol where several of us are, the connection quality depends ... on the worst one in the group. That's a factor to consider.

It could still be a ping problem! If you test your ping with a Windows command prompt, keep in mind that this test is worthless. Most ISPs are aware of the default number of requests and make sure to perform well with that number of requests. Over time, they're not all clean, far from it, it often ranges from acceptable to catastrophic.

Even if you have fiber, a good ping (to check if it's really good over a long duration, I repeat), the line occupancy rate also needs to be considered. If someone is using the TV box, if your sister is doing a video chat on FB, or if you have active internet surveillance, all that generates line occupancy and often leads to fluctuations that also hurt the ping.

The issue can also come from Sony. Such things can be checked: https://status.playstation.com/fr-fr/
