Hello,

I am a student and I would like to buy a new laptop (mine is giving up). I am hesitating between 2 computers mainly: two HPs, one with an Intel Core i3 and 8GB of RAM and the other with an Intel Core i5 and 4GB of RAM. Is the difference in RAM really important? Knowing that there is an 80 euro difference (more for the 8GB model). My current laptop has 4GB of RAM and struggles as soon as I open multiple tabs at once on Chrome... so I wonder if I should opt for the 8GB? At the same time, I have an Intel Celeron processor 1 core 1.7GHz, so maybe that plays a role as well?
I use my computer for the following tasks: Microsoft Office, browsing the internet, reading PDFs, watching series and movies (no downloads), I don't play any games.

Thank you in advance to those who read this, and thank you for your response!

Configuration: iPad / Safari 11.0

Hello, 4GB is sufficient if you’re not multitasking with a lot of tabs and programs running at the same time, however having 8GB is still a safety net. I wonder how manufacturers sell i5 processors with only 4GB (it’s not balanced).

If it's a matter of loading speed, I recommend getting a laptop equipped with an SSD for your comfort.
