Email address with two capital letters!!?

Hello,

I have a document that I need to send back to a hospital. They provided me with an email address that includes two capital letters (see document)
I haven't received an acknowledgment of receipt to know if it was correctly received.
I tried entering the two letters in lowercase, but the sending was rejected.
How is it that some administrations can include capital letters? Is this common
(everyone tells us to use lowercase, but that doesn't seem to be the case here!!? )

    Hi,

    What's quite funny is that the hospital Le Cluzeau you mentioned is the one I go to for my work-related accidents (tree fall injuries, etc...) and other appointments! So, I often have the opportunity to send them emails at this address. Furthermore, they have others of this kind. I can confirm that it works.
    Jeannets' explanations are perfect, and I can't add anything more because they are very clear and relevant.

    Hello,

    For me, this address is correct; it should be used as it is in the box...

    The issue of uppercase or lowercase letters is not imperative... some sites are even entirely in uppercase...

    Usage recommends the use of lowercase letters so that everyone can find their way, without confusion, especially in the name of the host which comes after the at sign, so here @chu-limoges.fr
    But for the name that precedes, we can do otherwise... especially if the server is that of the CHU, it's not like Free or Orange which can impose rules on their customers...

    If you sent this email to the correct address, they received it... Otherwise, you would get a return message indicating that the address does not exist... So don't worry.

    As for the acknowledgment of receipt, they are not obliged to validate it..
