Fix Windows Live Mail

Hello everyone,

So here's the thing, I followed a tip to repair Windows Live Mail, so I went to Programs and Features, then to uninstall, and there I was supposed to find REPAIR, but no!!! It started uninstalling and I canceled immediately! But now, it's over, when I open my mail it tells me "unable to start Windows Live Mail, maybe this program is not correctly installed." So now I'm panicking!!! How do I make sure to LOSE NOTHING in my contacts, my emails, and get everything working again????

    You need to reinstall it

    You'll get back your emails, contacts, etc.

    The problem is that it's no longer available for download on Microsoft (the link to the installer just leads to an error)

    You can still find it in full version

      Thank you, I will reinstall using your link, but why is it no longer available from Microsoft???? And are you sure I will recover all my data?

      Microsoft has discontinued support for WLM since January 10, 2017.

      For your data, I have already done reinstalls without losing anything as long as the emails, etc. are not in the WLM installation directory but in your personal Windows folder.

      If your emails are important, you should have made backups.

      Ok thanks, but how do I know where my data is currently located?? Where is the Windows personal folder??

      The emails and accounts are located in:

      C:\Users\username_Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

      You can find it in the WLM options: File === Options === Mail === Advanced === Maintenance === Folder on computer

      Note: you need to show hidden files to see AppData

      the contacts, in C:\Users\username_Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live

      Thank you, sorry to come back but here it is, I click on C:\Users\username but then I don't see Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live anywhere!!!!
