Hello*

Google's email box and the new "categories" feature seem like an innovation but it requires a whole adjustment. Sometimes I wonder why make things complicated when you can make them simple!
I wonder how to do it:
1- when I decide to move some emails from my inbox to my label folders (on the left), that’s fine,
2- But if later I try to delete them (the same emails) from my inbox where they still appear, at that moment, they also disappear from my label folder.

WHY ??????

Please send the reply to ***@gmail.com

Thank you.

Hello,

Indeed, the "Categories" are not very easy to manage because it's Google that decides which category an incoming message belongs to.

However, it is possible in Gmail settings to bypass the Categories: in the labels tab, hide all categories. All messages then arrive in the main inbox:
https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/&ss=1&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&emr=1&osid=1

Then it is possible to distribute them into the different labels we have created. You can assign as many labels as you want to a message. When you assign a label (without moving the message), it stays in the inbox and is also accessible in the label.

For it to no longer appear in the inbox but still be present in the labels, you should not delete it, you need to archive it.
Sincerely
Patrice
