Hello,
try recovery mode or ADB and fastboot from a PC to reinstall the original image, be careful it will erase everything.
Android 2.2 is not recent at all.
To update, check the manufacturer's website, otherwise it’s dead.
It's impossible to update with a generic version because of the specific drivers for each device.
