Hello,
I have been using the free Movie Maker for a long time with satisfaction. Since I downloaded the latest version, I am prompted to purchase Win Movie Maker every time I launch it. What does the paid version offer that is not included in the free version?
Thank you. Best regards.

Hello,
Where did you download the version you are currently using?
Windows Movie Maker is and will always be free software.
Any other use of editing software that includes Movie Maker in its name is done at "your own risk." It is quite possible that some publishers take advantage of the name confusion to somehow push people to buy their product.
To download WMM 2.6 or Windows Movie Maker 2012, see this discussion: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-34890279-windows-movie-maker-version-2012-et-version-2016
Best regards

Good evening,
Thank you for your response. I don't remember where I had downloaded MM, but I uninstalled and reinstalled it using the link you provided... No more problems.
Best regards- Hello,
Does version MM 2.6 not recognize the mp4 format? I can't upload the videos I made with MovieMaker 2012? Furthermore, this new version doesn't recognize the .MOV files made with my iPhone! It also doesn't recognize the projects made with the 2012 version! I had no problems with the 2012 version... strange... is there a specific setting to be done? Any plugins to download?
Best regards - For MP4 or MOV files, you should use the Windows Movie Maker 2012 version. So continue to use only this one and abandon WMM 2.6, which is a bit outdated now as it only supports AVI and WMV files, to keep it simple.
After that, do as you wish since you are the "master" of the software you use...
This version (2012) might be able to open MSWMM projects created with WMM 2.6, although I think the reverse is not possible, but I am not sure.
