Download folder mistakenly moved (from ssd to hdd)

Hello,

As mentioned in the title, I mistakenly moved the "downloads" folder, and since then I can't go back.

The folder was saved on my SSD, where the OS is originally installed.
I wanted to inquire about moving all these folders (images, documents...) to my 1TB hard drive so that I don't clutter the SSD.

While tinkering around, I finally managed to move that damn folder to D:\, but I can't go back..

To summarize, it was originally on C:\Users\Steph

And now it is on D:\ (I didn't even create a new folder...)

C being the SSD and D being the 1TB hard drive

Now even if I ask for it to return to the default location, I get an error message like "the specified path is not valid"...

I want to point out that my PC is brand new.. so I'm a bit stuck... but oh well, I take responsibility for it :(

(would resetting the PC help to put everything back in place?)

    You go to "This PC," it appears there.

    You right-click on it, "Properties."

    You choose the "Location" tab and select a new location here.

    The "default value" button will place it in "C:\Users\Steph\Downloads"

      I would add that if he asks to copy the files/folders, say no.
      Otherwise, he will get stuck.

        Why is it stuck? It’s not a copy anyway but a move, and he still needs to have his downloaded files in the right folder ... right?

        It would only be stuck if the destination location doesn’t have enough space to accommodate everything, and if that’s the case, Windows will warn beforehand, so nothing blocking can happen :)

      Hey there.
      When you move a folder to another drive, you're moving the files/folders inside it.
      When you want to do the opposite, resetting to default, and you accidentally put it at the root of D:, it will try to move everything at the root of D:
      Including System Volume Information, and that's not possible; it gets stuck.

      That's why, in this case, you shouldn't move the files/folders, and do it manually afterwards.

        Yes, rereading the post... If he wrote D: = Downloads, that's a blunder!
