Excel Unable to write in a cleared cell

Hello,
I was doing my accounts with Excel when I copied as usual the last page where I had written my accounts for date X to put in those for date Y. Once I deleted a cell, I couldn't type anything in it. I then made a new copy, and the problem persisted. I don't know if there's a connection, but I can no longer use the decimal point on the numeric keypad.
I must have made an incorrect maneuver.
Thank you for your response(s).

    Hello Nucdif

Right-click on the tab of the sheet to remove the protection just in case?
    Go to format
    security
    Protection
    Uncheck the boxes

How do you create a new sheet
by right-clicking on the tab or by copying a range to paste it onto another sheet?

It is by forging that one becomes a blacksmith. - It is at the foot of the wall that one sees the mason - one always learns from one's mistakes.

Thank you for this quick and precise response, but in the meantime, I found the solution. I had specified that the decimal point on the numeric keypad was not working, and when I had to type a password with numbers, I realized that the numeric keypad was actually disabled. I should have specified that my problem only occurred when writing numbers, but I wasn't aware of it. Everything is working now, thanks again.
