Copying and pasting a column while keeping the same formula references.

Question

Hello,   I would like to know how to copy and paste a column containing a formula into another column while keeping the same formula references. That is, if I have in column B a formula that is =E1+E2 and I copy this column to C, instead of having =F1+F2, I want to keep =E1+E2.  Thank you in advance  Configuration: Windows / Internet Explorer 11.0

Hello,  Put $ in front of the letter and the number  Example: =$E$1+$E$2  The $ means that we lock the column or the row.

Hello Bakus. Here's a solution (that works for an isolated cell):  -1) Click in the cell of column B. -2) In the formula bar, select =E1+E2, hit Copy, and click on the Undo icon on the left of the formula bar.  -3) Position yourself in the cell of column C. -4) Click in the formula bar, hit Paste and confirm. Another solution, if it involves multiple cells in a column: Since the result in C is identical to that in B, you just need to write in C2 the formula =B2.  That said, I really see no point in having 2 columns containing exactly the same formulas (or the same results): It serves no purpose at all!  -- Retirement is nice!
