Hello,

Some time ago, there was a small software that detected cat paws on the keyboard and blocked the resulting actions on the computer.

Does anyone have an idea to suggest? Yes, I know, throw the cat out. But no, but no, he helps me catch mice, I will keep him a little longer... Lol!

Hello,
Try this:
- Press the Right Shift key for 8 seconds then click Yes.
- To unlock it, simply hold the Right Shift key for 10 seconds."

Hello,
Same problem with two cats, each taking turns of course.
A simple little board with two small legs (an upside-down U) and the kitties lounge on the keyboard without touching it.

  I will try with a cardboard box first, to see if that can be a DIY solution. Then, I'll check if the cardboard plus the cat on the cardboard will leave me enough space to see the screen of my small laptop; otherwise, I have no choice but to post another question: How to see my laptop screen with a 3.5 kg cat on the keyboard. Lol!

    Well no, it's a bit cumbersome, especially with long hair. Lol! The cardboard was meant to serve as a template for a future woodworking project with brackets. This way I could calculate the height of the legs of the board given the space needed for my hands.

As a cat owner myself, I am aware of your serious problem.
I first tried to teach mine office skills, so he could lend a paw, but he doesn't learn quickly: he falls asleep after three minutes...
Then I tried to explain to him that it wasn't right to lie on my keyboard, but he loves the slight warmth of the power supply and the gentle purring of the fan!
In the end, I brought him an old computer, which I set up next to mine, and it suits him perfectly.

  It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one affected by my serious problem. Office work is already soporific for some humans; I can only imagine the impact on a cat's brain. Apart from the special software with goldfish swimming across the screen, there's hardly a chance to keep these felines awake for more than three minutes...
  
  The same goes for education: "no" in cat means "you have a good chance if you insist a little, until she cracks, so go for it." And it's true, "it's nice to have a warm place that reminds me of mom, right next to my favorite human."
  
  The idea of a old keyboard placed next to mine is a very interesting solution. I'll give it a try, my cat will be less frustrated than if I completely push him away. Anyway, two minutes later, the problem will arise again...

    If your cat finds the old keyboard comfortable, since you will be nearby without threatening or punishing it, it will appropriate that space, you’ll see!
    I have never had the chance to visit Rouen; from Normandy, I only know Évreux and Bernay.
    Just be careful not to make any thoughtless "Entrées" while you’re tinkering: irreversible consequences may occur...

    I think the old keyboard will suit him. I never threaten or punish him, the little one, he needs to feel secure. I've already put the small blanket where the keyboard will be.

Thank you for this solution, but it doesn't quite match what I'm looking for. Indeed, after implementing it, I pressed my whole hand on the keyboard and the result is the same. And since I'm a typist, I type very fast, and this tip slows me down too much to keep my hair from standing on end.

  Yes indeed, it's often case by case depending on the usage, to be fair.
  But why leave the screen unfolded when no one is using the PC? The sleep mode when the screen is closed can be disabled if needed.
