Is uTorrent installed?

Hello,

I have Windows 10, I just downloaded uTorrent from this address: http://www.utorrent.com/intl/en/#comp-tbl
(I took the free version)

I clicked on the .exe file to start the installation, uTorrent installs, but I can't find uTorrent in Windows!
I clicked on the .exe file a second time and now uTorrent opens directly! (normally it should show me an installation window, but no, it opens the software!)

Is this normal?
Where is uTorrent installed?
(I didn't find it in "Program Files (x86)", nor in "Programs")

Thank you

Hello;

uTorrent does not install in Program Files(86) or Programs, but in the hidden Windows files that you can view by displaying them
The path is C:\Users(user name)\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent... >> You create a shortcut on your desktop etc..

See you for your comments, but if none >> Resolved

Indeed, thank you!

But how do I get it in the start menu with the other software?
(to launch it, I’m not going to open that folder anyway)

Do you know why it installs there (hidden folder) and in the "Program Files" folder?
I remember it used to install there before.

Merci. Is it better, worse, or indifferent that µTorrent does not install in Program Files (86) or Programs but in Windows' hidden files? What is the difference between these folders in terms of security? Privacy? Thank you for your answers!

Hello.

Indeed, µTorrent does not install in Program Files or Programs but in C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\ µTorrent

First, you need to enable the viewing of hidden files >>>

Right-click on the Windows icon >>> File Explorer >>> View and then on the right check "Show hidden items".

Then right-click on the Windows icon and in the search bar type %APPDATA%
In the list, you will find µTorrent. Just right-click on the application and send the shortcut to the Start screen.

As a reminder, when a download is finished, make sure to exit µTorrent (icon in the notification area on the right) as the software continues to run in the background.

This is just a suggestion . . . Bye

Hello;

uTorrent installs by default as explained above, and if you want to create a shortcut on your desktop, just go to the path described above and point to the uTorrent executable >> Send to >> Create shortcut on the desktop, and that's it, you won't have to go into your hidden files anymore.
See you later for your comments.

Thank you :)

But I know how to create a shortcut on the desktop. I was asking how to add it to the start menu with the other applications:

It's good, I found it.
You need to put the uTorrent shortcut in the folder:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Anyway, thanks for your answers ;)

But why did they choose not to install it in Program Files???
