Hello,

For some time now, my Comodo firewall could no longer update.
I wanted to uninstall it and install the new version this afternoon, hoping to fix the issue.
I installed it using the wrong launcher (complete solution) and only realized it after the Comodo AV conflicted with my Avira AV.

I started the uninstallation of Comodo, which seemed to work, but...
Although nothing belonging to Comodo appears in the list of programs, many files remain (and it’s impossible to remove them manually; a message states that they are used by cavwp.exe, which cannot be found).

The system restore neither gives me a version that I can uninstall nor one that would be functional.
The firewall launcher (the correct one) crashes at 49% of the installation, stating that it cannot remove the old version and that it must be deleted manually.

In short, it’s like a snake eating its own tail; I don't see how to proceed.

If anyone has a solution to propose, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance to those who will look into this issue.

    Hello,

I was able to remove Comodo in safe mode (with Revo Uninstaller).
But since Comodo changed my network card settings, I found myself without internet access.

After two days, I finally found that in "properties" on my network card, one of the checked lines was: "use Comodo drivers to establish the connection".
By unchecking the box and then applying the changes, I was finally able to regain access to the web.

Despite these setbacks, I still wanted to install this firewall that I've been using for years and have found to be effective for a free option until now.
Again, the installation crashes, the properties of the card are modified again, and with internet disconnected in the middle of the installation, it has failed once more.

I guess I will pass on the new version and look for another protection solution.
Anyway, I still leave the solution here, hoping it can help other users.

Thank you very much for the help.

I had the same problem, it was Comodo that was blocking
it may be good protection but the uninstallation doesn't work
I would have never thought of Comodo's driver for the network card by myself
      thanks a lot

Great remark! I had the same issue and it was annoying. Before uninstalling it, I first removed the driver from the list of items using the card.. Everything went back to normal.

I tried this solution but it doesn't work, I can't remove Comodo from the hard drive program, it says it's already open elsewhere but that's false unfortunately! The designer of this program could have added a trick to remove it but well, since it's free...

    Hello,

Restart in safe mode and try to delete the files manually.

Otherwise, the ultimate solution: boot from a Linux live CD and manually delete the files.
