Paint is not disabling!
If you want to open your files with a different application:
you right-click on the file in question
click on properties
in the "opens with" line, click on modify and choose the application that suits you.
I want to emphasize that you should choose an application related to the file.
For example:
if you choose to open music with a drawing software, you will never hear your song!
Once you have made this change, it applies to all the relevant files on your computer.
