Hello,

I just got in touch on a dating site and the next day the guy asks me for help because there has been a theft in his hotel and he wants me to send him money, and even wants a friend to send me a check. He gave me a number with the prefix +22 so I could contact him to talk. I just gave him my phone number, am I at risk?

Thank you.

Hello,

For now, you're not risking much... but cutting all contact... It smells like a scam all the way.

To give you an idea, +22 is a country in Africa.

I am afraid that the person will do searches with my phone number even though I asked to be removed from the directory. He made me believe in all sorts of wonders, but there was no way I was going to give my name and money. That's what I did. Thank you.

Following a sale of my sofa on Le Bon Coin, I discover that the +22 is still a scam, not giving their first and last name (which is already in my signature grrrr), not the address etc....
