Hello,
in Excel, you need to enter a number followed by a space and then the fraction.
If the fraction is <1, you should therefore write 0 "x/y, e.g.:
0 1/2
It’s probably the same on Sheets

By continuously trying, we eventually succeed.
So the more it fails, the more chances we have that it works. (the Shadoks)
In addition to thank you (yes, it happens!!!), remember to mark it as resolved. Thank you.
I have a similar problem, maybe you could help me before I pull my hair out.....
In Google Sheets, I enter a list of numbers for data validation. They need to appear in the dropdown menu as fractions. Then formulas apply to them. So these numbers cannot be considered as text. Help!! :-)
First, you need to change the format of the text in the cells or the entire column: Format/Number/Other Formats by setting it to #" "?/?
Then you enter your fractions with an "=" in front, e.g. =1/2
and it should work
