Hello,
I encountered some issues with my PC, and since then, every time I launch Excel or Word, a configuration window for Office Pro 2007 pops up.
I've tried:
- The registry fix
- Repairing it, but it tells me that some files are missing. However, when I use my install executable, it copies the files into the Temp directory, but when pointing to them, it says it's an invalid directory.
- I haven't fully reinstalled everything yet; I'm afraid of losing my configurations.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Rmanal
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 49.0

Hello,
Outlook generates a single compressed file that you can save and reuse after reinstalling Office from your exe, which seems to me to be the best solution rather than looking for missing or defective dlls.
This way, you will be able to retrieve your configuration, accounts, and rules, provided you follow the procedures.

However, my experience with Outlook is too far in the past for me to help you effectively.
I believe that other readers will be able to take over from the information now available.
Best regards. -

Hello,
Check if you have other versions installed, such as a trial version for example.
If so, uninstall all versions, restart, and then reinstall version 2007. -
Thank you,
but is it possible to "repair" the installation without reinstalling everything? I'm afraid of losing my configuration: how can I save it? -

Hello,
I think we don’t know enough to offer you an initial solution.
1) You say you had problems, which ones? Have you managed to solve them?
2) It is possible that these problems have caused the deterioration of certain files or DLLs of the mentioned programs.
3) If you do not have an authentic DVD of the said programs, it will be illusory to repair them from unknown sources.
4) I don’t know what this thing in the registry you are talking about is, but it is a risky process, especially since it seems to lead you to a Temp file rather than guide you to resolve the malfunction.
5) I don’t know if the installation you are referring to is that of Office or the OS, which should be completely repaired first, before the software installed afterwards can be fixed or reinstalled.
6) Are you sure you have installed SP3 for Windows XP?

Hello and thank you
I still have my problem, which is that every time I open a Word or Excel file, it starts the Office configuration.
Forget the registry tip, I haven't changed anything in the end.
My initial problem was a disk crash on bad sectors: it's fixed but it may have indeed damaged some files.
My Office installation is from an executable file provided as part of a partnership between my company and Microsoft.
I am on XP SP3.
For the repair, I deleted the MSO_CACHE directories a long time ago, so my executable does offer the repair option, but it refuses to point to the "temp" directory where it decompressed the contents of the executable, even though the "missing" file (ShellUI.MS) is present there.
I can reinstall everything, but I will lose my configuration, especially that of Outlook, where I have rules and multiple accounts, which bothers me a lot.
Can you help me? -
I finally made the transfer and it worked, except for the accounts I had to recreate manually.
Thank you
