I have a slow PC...

Hello everyone,

I need help regarding my friend's PC and her daughters' which is slow and I'm not quite sure why.
Normally, I would format and reinstall everything. But since it's running Windows 7, there are a lot of updates and given their internet connection that runs between 2 and 3 Mbps (more often close to 2 Mbps, by the way, but I will address that in another question), I can't tell you how long that's going to take...
It is quite slow to boot up and once the session is fully opened, it's the first opening of programs that is slow (like Firefox for example).
Since then, I've done some manipulations: cleaned with Glary, physical cleaning, and replaced the CPU thermal paste.
Now instead of describing my configuration and other things, I'll give you the summary of the Aida64 report:

    Hi,
Actually, everyone uses this computer, right? It's about that, isn't it?!!

Thank you for your interest and for responding to me.

Yes, that's exactly it, my friend and her daughters (who don't know anything about it) and I. The girls use it less and less but they still sometimes use it.

I believe one of the girls watched movies (I couldn't say how? Streaming? Replay?).

They have already downloaded software from sites like this one but also another one that I won't name (2 digits and 3 letters) but the problem is that she doesn't uncheck the associated software that modifies search engines or puts bars (I no longer remember the exact name) on browsers.

I have never updated the BIOS, it is not overclocked.

The Windows performance index (but I believe it is not reliable) shows a lowest score of 4.2, which concerns graphics (Windows Aero desktop performance) and then 5.2 for gaming graphics, the other scores are 5.9 for RAM and hard drive (WD Caviar Green hard drive), and then 6.5 for the CPU.

My power supply is a standard advance 650 W max (I know it's not the best, that’s why I aimed for a higher wattage).

I wondered if the installed DirectX is compatible with the "video card" integrated into the motherboard... I read somewhere that this could create problems, but I don't know which ones.

I was wondering if I should just buy a graphics card and add a bit of RAM. But given the finances, it's one or the other for now.

Information I omitted to mention is that this is a configuration I made myself (like all my PCs) but I've never had any issues.

I don't see what else I can say.

Ok, so everyone has downloaded everything at will, clicked on anything and everything!!

First, let's start by downloading ADW to get a handle on the problem.
Once installed on the desktop, click "Scan" and then we'll see.

Omission on my part: I have already used AdwCleaner which found some things but did not solve the problem. Tonight I will do it again anyway.

I have also used Malwarebytes but in the free version, just like Glary by the way.
