SFR/Numéricable Box Connection

Hello,

I just subscribed to SFR, Box THD 4K, so I'm going home to plug it in via the TV antenna.
I realize that I don't have a wall socket but a TV cable coming out of the wall (the wires must be embedded) I plug it in but there's no result. I therefore contacted the technical service and a technician is coming on 10/08 in 15 days!!

In the meantime, I'm trying to understand what's malfunctioning. I found in the garage what seems to be the cable and TV connection, (I could upload a photo but I need to register on the site), with two outputs from which two cables come out, I suppose one for TV and one for "cable", then they go through a hole (in the walls) and in the end, I only find the TV cable, so I don’t know where the other one went.

Hence my question (maybe silly), is it the cable itself that is not working or the connection to the box, will the technician have to find the other cable or if necessary install another one, or is it enough to reconnect the cable coming into my living room to the other outlet?

In short, does it suffice to swap the two cables that come out of the box in the garage?
If that's the case, it might be something I can do myself.

I really don’t know anything about this and I need some technical advice, I’ve looked a lot on the internet and found nothing clear about it.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello, I was a former Numericable technician. To start, take your box and connect it directly in your garage to the incoming cable, which should logically come out of the floor and is probably black. Wait about ten minutes for your box to synchronize and test the internet connection. If it doesn’t work, your incoming cable might not be connected to the Numericable network but likely to a communal antenna, if you have one in your residence, or the cable needs to be replaced. If it works, remove your splitter; it must be old. Buy a transition, which you can find at Castorama or Leroy Merlin for about 2 to 3 euros, and connect the incoming black cable directly to the cable that should go to the living room, eliminating the splitter. You’ll gain signal and can retest in your living room. Be careful with Numericable; everything is charged. If a technician comes, he will install a galvanized socket in your living room, but if he connects the box and configures it for you, it’s 60 euros.
