Hello,
I’m sure this topic has been discussed countless times; I searched but couldn’t find a satisfactory answer. So, I'm asking my question here: Why can't I connect to the PSN Network on my PS4 when I was able to do so without any issue last week? I haven’t changed any settings in a week.
When I test my Internet connection, it happens very quickly:
Obtaining IP address - Success
Internet Connection - Success
Connecting to PSN - Failure
NAT Type - Type 2
And I have a very good connection speed.
At the moment I'm facing this issue, the status of the PSN on the PlayStation Network website indicates that everything is green (so the problem isn't coming from there).
When I try to connect to PSN, a message appears:
“Connection to the server timed out.
There may have been a problem when connecting to the network, or PlayStation Network or the service provider's server may be temporarily busy.
(NW-31456-9)”
I then click on RECOMMENDATIONS and I get a list of possibilities. Since the PSN status seems "Green," the problem must come from the firewall or some other security device that's preventing me from connecting to the network. I’m advised to check that the network devices are not blocking the following ports:
TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480.
UDP: 3478, 3479.
I have two questions:
- How can I ensure that these devices do not block the aforementioned ports?
- Why did these ports get blocked overnight without any action on my part?
Put yourself in my shoes. Yesterday I was playing online with my friends, everything was fine, no connectivity issues... today I turn on the console. Connection Impossible!
HELP!
