Hello, I wanted to know if DDR3 and DDR3L are the same thing because I want to change my laptop and since my current laptop has 8 GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM and the one I want to buy has 4 GB of DDR3L RAM, if it would be possible to transfer that RAM..
I hope to get some answers, thank you and have a good day!

DDR3 and DDR3L are almost the same, except that DDR3L has a lower voltage.

You risk losing the benefits of dual channel.

But precisely, I just have to take out the 4 GB DDR3L RAM stick and put in my 2x4 GB DDR3 RAM; that's the best!

Alright! But if you want to switch from low voltage RAM to higher voltage RAM, you need to make sure it will work without issues. You can check the compatible RAM sticks on the Crucial website using the brand and model of your laptop.

    Hello

DDR3L memory operates at a lower voltage than DDR3.
Motherboards and power supplies are designed accordingly.

It is definitely not a good idea to replace one with the other; there is a very high chance it won't work.

And it serves no purpose at all...
