Hello,

I just got a new computer, and I wanted to install Office 2010, but I received this message:

"No product is assigned to this installation package on this system."

What does this mean? Have you ever encountered this kind of problem? How can I resolve it?

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to enlighten me!

Hello, once I accept the terms of use for Word, it displays the message quoted above, and I can't click on "Ok", and then I have nothing...

Good evening juliemacky,

In your initial message, you wrote: "I wanted to install Office 2010".

And now you are writing: "once I accept the terms of use
for Word". Did you mean to say: "... for Office 2010" instead?

----------------------------------------------------

When you write "I can't click on OK", is it because there is no
OK button? Or is it because even though the button is present,
you can't click on it? Is "OK" grayed out?

----------------------------------------------------

When you write "after I have nothing...": after WHAT?

Because it can't be after clicking on the OK button,
since you wrote that you couldn't click on it!

Do you mean that after the message window "No product is affected
by the installation of this package on this system", it continues on its own?

----------------------------------------------------

And what is NOTHING?

A crash returning to the Windows Desktop without a PC crash? A crash with the PC frozen? A black screen? Something else?

----------------------------------------------------

I know this is a lot of questions, but don't forget that I'm not
in front of your screen! And I can't guess what's happening!

Best regards. 😊

I recap:

I downloaded the software, I click on it.
It says to me "Do you accept to make changes to this PC?" I accept.
The installation of the software starts. So far, so good.
"Click here to accept the terms of the agreement blah blah" I click and I continue.
And then:

"No product is affected by the installation of this package on this system"

Hello juliemacky,

I’m sorry, I didn’t understand the message you received because
I hadn’t thought about the update software.

It was the response that m@rina gave you that made me realize this,
and I’m counting on you to thank her. Thanks in advance.

------------------------------------------------------

So it was indeed an error message, which means what m@rina wrote
in her message #4:

“The package we are trying to install is nothing more than an update,
and to install this update, the main program must already be
installed on the hard drive of your PC.”

------------------------------------------------------

The Microsoft error message:
"No product is affected by the installation of this package on this system"
should therefore be understood as follows:
There is no product (software) on the system (the PC) that is concerned by
the installation of this update."

------------------------------------------------------

According to your messages #0 and #6, it is the Office 2010 SP1 Pack.

In your message #5, you ask how to obtain
the main program.

Since it dates back to 2010, I think Microsoft no longer sells it.

------------------------------------------------------

I see only one solution: purchase a full product, not an update.
And in this case, take the opportunity to buy the latest version:

Microsoft Office 2016

OR subscribe to Microsoft Office 365, but BE CAREFUL:
if it’s cheaper at the moment, in the long run, over several years,
some (including me) consider the price to be prohibitive!

------------------------------------------------------

It’s up to you to choose, but first ask for advice from m@rina: she might have
a better idea than I do? For example, if she can tell you how
to download an older version of the Office 2007 Pack, on which
you can install your Office 2010 SP1 update. I don’t know,
and I can’t help you with that.

Best regards. 😊
