Hello,
I have an Acer 1410 without a CD. I would like to reinstall the factory settings as I have too many problems (viruses, bugs, etc.).
When I launch eRecovery, I get an error message "The hard drive configuration is not set to the factory default value."
https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcuUw3G6y2
It seems that my PQservice drive has changed file system. Here is a disk management capture:
https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcuWP68Y52
When I run EaseUS it states the opposite:
https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcuYrzOhQ2
I ran TestDisk but since I'm not familiar with it, I don't know what to do to fix the problem and I especially want to avoid losing my PQService.
I currently have only one partition: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcu2wgEe22
After the analysis https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcu0WCBlE2
and after the Quick search: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcu6oeFxi2
I have an Acer 1410 without a CD/DVD drive, Windows 7 (64bit)
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Everything is normal, the partitions haven't changed.
First, you should give up on TestDisk, it’s useless for your case.
For the error message from ERecovery, do you see it immediately when you launch the program, or when you choose to Backup?-
Hello,
I have the error message from Windows with eRecovery when I choose "create the default factory disk" https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEcuUw3G6y2
Following the information from various forums, I checked during startup that my D2D is enabled https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdqQAKtey2
Then I pressed F10 at startup and got this: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdqUHLMrZ2 but I don't know what to do next...
ALT+F10 doesn't work at startup, my screen is black and nothing happens.
Then I pressed F8 at startup, https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdq0ntupu2 by the way is it normal that the operating system is under (D:) Acer and not C:?
the "startup repair" launch didn't yield anything: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdqYPyZzp2
Then I launched from Recovery Management, and the option "Completely Restore System to Factory Defaults": https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdq3xrFbO2
and I got the following error message: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdq2GCnpL2
After all that, I started testing the solution with creating the PQService image with R-Image. When I open the virtual drive, it is empty, there are no files.
Anyway, I don't know what else to do. Do you think my data on the PQService is lost? -
RE
Where do you see that it's installed on D:\ and not on C:\?
In your screenshot of the disk manager and that of EaseUs, it's clearly on C:\.
In EaseUs, PQService seems quite small, only 87.82 MB out of 12 GB
I think the PQServices partition is damaged, there's not much that can be done to repair it.
However, if you really want to reinstall W7, we can download an ISO file and prepare a DVD or USB installation. For the missing drivers, it's not a problem, we should be able to find them on the Acer website. -
Hi,
If we believe this: http://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdq2GCnpL2
There seems to be a problem with one or more swm files (a set of files that make up the W7 image), or with the path leading to these files. It would be necessary to check their actual presence on the factory partition.
And if they are present, it is still possible to attempt a factory reset via the command prompt. But this requires some knowledge of the dism command and using at least the W8 console (to avoid creating a live winpe with WAIK).
However, reinstalling from the W7 iso is indeed much simpler. -
RE
I see that it's on D: when I launch F8: https://www.cjoint.com/c/FEdq0ntupu2
I would like to reinstall W7 but I only have a USB, not a DVD.
It's strange that my PQService is corrupted; I have never touched it, only partitioned C: in the past and deleted it afterwards. -

Hello,
kimaini, I sent you a PM.-

Hello "foster" ;-)
Doesn't work with manufacturer licenses, like for W8 ^^
For virus sos, here's what it gives:
Not Found
The requested URL /iso/win/7/en/Windows_7_Home_Premium__x64.iso was not found on this server.
Apache Server at freeapp-store.com Port 80
If needed, I have the official ISOs for W7/8/8.1/10 and W8.1 with Bing in 32 bits. -

Rhaa! Damn!
How can I install W7 without the original CD in this case? I have the key for W7 stuck on my computer.

We're going to reinstall W7 differently, do you have a 64-bit Home version of W7?
To check, go to Start, right-click on Computer, Properties.
-First of all, you need to back up your personal data that you want to keep by putting it on an external storage device.
-Then, you need to back up the activation of W7, even if you have the license key stuck under your PC, it's safer that way, by following this tutorial:
https://www.pcastuces.com/pratique/windows/sauvegarder_activation/page1.htm
-As soon as you confirm the version of W7, I will give you a link to download an installation ISO file.
-Then, you'll need either a DVD or a minimum 5 GB empty USB drive; let me know what you have so I can guide you.
-Also tell me if you have another PC to correspond during the installation time, in case you need help with it.

Ok great,
I have W7 Home Premium SP1 64bit.
I have another PC available for work and correspondence if needed.
My Acer doesn't have a drive so I will use my 32GB USB stick.
I'm ready, personal files backed up

Go to this link and download: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
https://www.sosvirus.net/telecharger/windows-7-home-premium-64-bit/
Empty your USB drive if you have personal data on it, as it will be formatted.
Use Rufus to put the ISO file you downloaded:
https://rufus.akeo.ie/
Let me know when the USB is ready, to see the next steps. -

If you have saved the activation, you need to put the folder on another external drive as well.
For the installation, plug in the USB, restart, tap F12 to access the Boot Menu and select the USB.
Once launched, choose the language in each box and then click on Install now.
Accept the agreement and select Custom Installation.
When choosing partitions, click on Drive options (Advanced).
There, you will need to tell me if you want to create an additional partition or leave the whole disk.
