Hello,
I would like to know how to wire RJ-45 splitters since I cannot add a socket, so I saw online a way to get around this problem using RJ-45 socket splitters. My last question is whether it is possible to configure the IP addresses of the two sockets.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 49.0.2623.112

    Hello,

RJ45 splitters work in pairs. On a single cable, you will combine 2 Ethernet connections (limited to 100Mbps since it uses 4 wires).

If you have a wall socket where you plug in the splitter, at the origin of the cable coming to your wall socket, you should have an outgoing connection for example from a switch; here you need to plug in the second splitter, with 2 wires coming from the switch, and the splitter on the outgoing cable from your wall socket.

The splitter only serves to divide the 8 wires of an Ethernet connection into 2, so it has no effect on the IPs.

    Best regards
