Photoshop does not offer PNG.

Hello,

I can no longer save PNG documents from Photoshop because it no longer offers it in the list of formats when saving.
Is this normal? What should I do?

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 45.0

Photoshop does not offer the saving format if the image characteristics are not compatible with it.

For example, a dichrome image in PNG is not compatible.

Check the color space, color depth, etc...

Your version of Photoshop wouldn't have fallen off the truck, would it? If that's the case, it might have been damaged in the fall.

Incredible that even in 2016, we were already seeing this kind of response: "oh dear, it fell off the truck"... Shame on you!
It's so much easier to give this recurring answer than to provide a technical response... And yet it's even simpler not to respond when you know nothing about it.
Edit > Preferences > File Management > Enable the legacy Save As command
We go back to the file and it saves on its own.
I had this problem after a switch to a PAID and CHARGED version
And please, stop believing that every problem means you’re dealing with a so-called software pirate, otherwise we’ll think that every answer given comes from someone who knows nothing.

No point in complaining about this answer 8 years later. On the forum level, it's valid; there was probably a patched version in 2016, and many people were getting misled because it didn't work.

Today, it's more likely that the image is not compatible to be saved in this format, as contrariness said, okay.

Photoshop > berg

"Quick export" the file will be exported in .png format
