Firefox won't open a new tab

Hello,

I have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox and recently I can no longer open new tabs, whether by clicking or by pressing Ctrl+t, nothing happens. However, I can still open links in new tabs by clicking on them. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, as well as disabled my add-ons one by one to see if the problem came from there, but nothing has changed.
Do you have any ideas about where the problem could be coming from?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 43.0

Re,

Grrrr this Windows 10........

Uninstall and reinstall properly.

Recover your bookmarks:

Open Firefox,
Bookmarks
Show All Bookmarks
Import and Backup
Export as HTML...

Save the file to the desktop.

Back up your important data to the desktop:

The files places.sqlite, key3.db, logins.json, permissions.sqlite, etc.....

-------------

Uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller

*Launch Revo Uninstaller

*Let it load...

*Select the software to be uninstalled, then right-click "Uninstall"

*A window opens, select the "Advanced" mode, then click "Next"

*Let it load...

*A window opens, with the standard uninstaller for the selected software.

*Continue the uninstallation like a standard uninstall.

*Agree to uninstall everything
Check "Delete all my files" (if prompted)

*Once the standard uninstallation is complete, click "Next"

*The software scans for leftovers, let it load...

*If any registry remnants are found:

*Click "Select All", then "Delete".

*Then click "Next".

*If any remaining files and directories are found:

*Click "Select All", then "Delete".

*Then click "Next".

NOTE: If any items can only be deleted upon restart, restart the PC.

Clean up with CCleaner (registry too)

==> CCleaner Tutorial

Restart the PC.

Go to: C:\program files or C:\Programmes
Delete the folder "Mozilla Firefox" (if present)

--------------

Install and launch CCleaner for a cleanup in Windows, applications, and registry.

Follow this tutorial

Install Firefox

Recover the bookmarks:

Open Firefox
Bookmarks
Show All Bookmarks
Import and Backup
Import from HTML....
Next

Go to desktop
Select "bookmarkbackups.html"

To recover your important data:

Place the different backed-up files from the desktop into the new profile created by Firefox.

Click on the Start button of Windows and select Run.... (or use the Windows + R keys)

Enter in the field

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Click OK.

Windows Explorer opens the Profiles folder, which contains a folder for each profile.

Put the files back in the new profile.

Restart Firefox.
